CUIB Douala campus concludes 6 days Fair in grand style
It was ceremony like no other as the luxurious Bonamoussadi neighborhood of Douala was brought to a standstill in a six (6) days marathon academic and Entrepreneurial fair organized by the Douala campus of the Catholic University Institute of Buea.
For close to one week, tens of thousands of inhabitants of the city of Douala converge at the inner bowl of the Parcours Vita to witness for themselves one of the key flagship traditions of the CUIB Douala campus-The Academic and Entrepreneurial fair 2019.
Officially launched on the 15th of May 2019 by the President/Pro-Chancellor Rev Fr. George Nkeze, the first ever Growth Mindset Entrepreneurship and Academic Fair in the history of Cameroon was among other things aimed at providing a platform for students to showcase their business ideas and interact with customers in real time.
Happening in Douala for the very first time, the students who occupied more than 90% of the stands, run different businesses, participate in business plan challenge, Master/Miss CUIB, Douala Got Talent amongst other activities as they woe the public.
For the 6 days, more than 20 000 visitors troop into the fair village to see how CUIB Douala conducts learning with fun.
Many guest artists of national repute were present to entertain the crowd and give them six days to always remember
Addressing the students, staff, faculty, and population during the closing ceremony held on 19th May 2019, the Director of the Douala campus Dr. Fabrice Djikeng lauded the students and employees of the campus for a job well done.

The Director says CUIB Douala has come to stay and is the front runner in instilling a growth mindset in the minds of young Cameroonians.
He also used the opportunity to announce that admission for the 2019/2020 academic year has been opened in all four schools of the university and urged participants to take the opportunity to give their children quality education in the Growth Mindset University.
On his part, the President/ Pro-Chancellor of Catholic University Institute Rev Fr. George Nkeze salutes the team of the Douala campus for an exceptional job in organizing a successful fair.
Rev Fr. Nkeze also used the opportunity to add that, the world is looking for people with positive and growth mindset and not just certificate holders.
In his close to 15 minutes discourse, the President exalts the students and population to take advantage of this new idea CUIB Douala Campus is offering, saying science has proven that everybody is intelligent.
“All those who won here today didn’t win because they are intelligent, they won because they won hard,” he said to the applause of the crown as he handed cash prize and certificates to different award winners.
“All of us were born intelligent, what differentiates us from others is how we work hard” he added.
The President went ahead to call on the students to work hard and compete only with themselves.
He equally used the opportunity to announce the creation of the CUIB Ubiquitous Campus of learning to be hosted in Douala, appointing Dr. Felicitas Mokom, an IT Expert to be its first pioneer director.
