CUIB Douala launches first ever growth Mindset Academic Fair
The ball has been set rolling for the first edition of the Catholic University Institute of Buea Douala Campus 2019 Academic and Entrepreneurial Fair.
The initiative was launched Wednesday in the DoualaBonamoussadi campus of the institute during a colorful ceremony chaired by President and pro Chancellor of the University, Rev Fr George Nkeze. Dubbed the Growth Mindset Entrepreneurial Fair, the Douala event will run till Sunday.
Speaking at the start of the launch Wednesday, the director of Douala campus, Dr Fabrice Djikeng, welcomed all present and said the Fair provides a rare opportunity for students to showcase their innovation to the world.
“CUIB mission is to prepare a new generation of young African entrepreneurs with growth mindset, who are servant leaders, saints and scholars and who can flourish in a rapidly changing world” he said.

He later expatiated on the University’s Growth Mindset philosophy which he told attendees enables students to be competitive in the fast changing world.
The Director also used the opportunity to tell the crowd present that admission for 2019/20 academic year has started saying “we welcome learners with no distinction of sex religion, tribe….our doors are open”
On his part, the President/Pro-Chancellor of the University, Rev Fr George Nkeze, thanked the Douala team for what he described as an incredible work to put together the fair, saying CUIB sees an opportunity in any problem given the crisis which has affected schools in Buea.
Eloquent and level-headed Fr George Nkeze said the world doesn’t focus on grades for students but rather their ability and approach to solving problems- hence the growth mindset.
He meanwhile particularly expressed gratitude to the students of the Douala campus for their efforts and innovations, saying CUIB Douala is proud to be the first to launch the first ever growth mindset fair in Cameroon.
